Philly in a funk
The 76ers have dropped three straight games coming into tonight, including a 128-122 loss at home to Milwaukee on Thursday. Philly is 49-30 on the season, 19-20 on the road, 36-43 against the spread and 41-38 with the over. The 76ers are still third in the East, which is the highest they can get. They are 1.5 games over Boston in fourth.
Philly is putting up 115.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47 percent as a team. Defensively, the 76ers are giving up 112.6 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent against them. Both Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are questionable to play tonight due to injuries. Embiid averages 27.6 points and 13.7 rebounds per game while Ben Simmons adds 17.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game.
Bulls end skid
Chicago had a five-game losing streak come to an end on Wednesday in a 115-114 win at Washington. The Bulls are now 22-57 on the season, 9-30 at home, 35-43-1 against the spread and 39-37-3 with the under.
The Bulls are averaging just 105.2 points per game on offense, while shooting just 45.4 percent as a team. Defensively, Chicago is giving up 113.4 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent against them. The Bulls currently have eight players listed on the injury report. Zach LaVine, Otto Porter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen are all out while Kris Dunn is doubtful to play. JaKarr Sampson is leading the team lately, scoring 40 points over two games while Walt Lemon Jr. is averaging 16.3 points over three games.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games.
Chicago
The Bulls are 6-20 against the spread in their last 26 home games and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games playing on two days of rest.
Prediction:
The 76ers are beat up, but the Bulls may be the most beat up team in the league right now. Chicago is down to playing complete unknowns. Philadelphia may not have Embiid or Butler tonight, but they still have the likes of Simmons and Tobias Harris. They will still have far more talent than Chicago and still have motivation to play well. I will take my chances on the 76ers minus the points.
NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -9.5
