Dallas Mavericks DFS Notes
Luka Doncic hit 11-of-15 shots, 7-of-11 3-pointers and 7-of-11 free throws for 36 points, eight rebounds, five assists and eight turnovers in Wednesday’s 113-108 win at Boston. The boo birds were out after the Mavs opened up a 56-37 lead as Luka couldn’t seem to miss and how he can’t consistently make his free throws remains a mystery. He’s showing no signs of the sore back that kept him out recently and his 3-point shooting has really turned around after a slow start from beyond the arc at the start of the season. The Celtics got a late steal and bucket from Jayson Tatum to cut the Mavs’ lead to just two points with 16 seconds remaining but Dallas was able to slam the door. Luka is a monster but the missed free throws and high turnovers can be frustrating at times, and tonight was one of those times.
New York Knicks DFS Notes
Elfrid Payton hit 6-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes of Wednesday’s 102-101 loss to the Timberwolves. This was a much better effort than his previous four games when he scored in single digits and saw limited minutes. He’s been dealing with a hamstring injury but didn’t show any issues with it tonight. The bad news is that Immanuel Quickley played just 13 minutes and failed to score tonight. And with the Knicks currently in the playoff with a 24-24 record you can expect Payton to continue to stifle Quickley until further notice.
