LeBron’s injury forces spread to drop
MIAMI, FL (The Spread) – LeBron James tweaked his knee on Sunday in the Cavs’ win over the Magic, forcing oddsmakers to drop the spread in tonight’s Cleveland-Miami tilt.
James was able to finish the game but said he would receive treatment and see how he feels prior to tonight’s 8:00PM ET tip off against his former team. While the injury doesn’t sound serious, the Cavs are likely to play it cautious with the 30-year-old, even if he’s eager to play against the Heat.
Regardless of whether or not the injury looks serious, oddsmakers sprung into action as soon as James was hurt on Sunday. After the spread opened as high as 7.5 at most sports books, the number for tonight’s Cavs-Heat game has dropped four points down to 3.5 at some spots.
Other books have taken the spread off the board entirely while some have dropped the opening line from 7.5 down to 5.5.
