Rockets’ Howard making progress
PORTLAND, OR (The Spread) – While he won’t play tonight for the Rockets as they visit the Trail Blazers at 10:30PM ET, Dwight Howard is making progress with his injured knee.
Howard has progressed to running, cutting, doing 2-on-2 work and said Tuesday that he feels more explosive than he’s been all season. He continues to work without an official timetable to return from the knee injury that has sidelined him since January 23, but he appears to be right on schedule. (His original timetable for return was 6-to-8 weeks and he’s currently on Week 5.)
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Blazers are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Rockets for tonight’s game while the total is sitting at 206.5 points. Portland did open as 3-point favorites before the number dropped, while the total opened at 207.5 before dropping as well.
The Rockets are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 trips to Portland and are 5-1 against the number in their last six games overall versus the Trail Blazers. The underdog is also 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings between these two teams.
