Pacers playing well
Indiana is coming off a 108-102 win at Chicago on Friday for a fifth win in six games. The Pacers come into today’s game at 38-25 overall, 17-15 on the road, 33-28-2 against the spread and 33-29-1 with the over.
The Pacers are putting up 109.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Indiana is giving up 107.3 points per game while opponents shoot just 44.8 percent from the field. Indiana has a lot of key injuries. Malcom Brogdon is out with a quad injury while T.J. Warren and Victor Oladipo are both questionable. Jeremy Lamb was also lost for the season recently. Those four are four of the top five scorers on the team. Warren leads the way with 18.7 points per game. Domantas Sabonis averages 18.3 points, 12.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest.
Mavs heating up
Dallas is coming off a 121-96 win at home over Memphis on Saturday for a seventh win in 10 games. The Mavericks are 39-25 on the season, 18-14 at home, 34-27-3 against the spread and 39-25 with the over.
The Mavericks are giving up 110.4 points per game on defense this season while opponents are shooting 45.2 percent from the field. Offensively, Dallas averages 116.6 points per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. The Mavs have some guard injury issues as Seth Curry and Jalen Brunson are both out while Tim Hardaway Jr. is questionable. Luka Doncic is leading the team with 28.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is adding 19.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Indiana
The Pacers are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a winning team.
Dallas
The Mavericks are 5-13-2 ATS in their last 20 games following a cover, but 5-2 ATS in their last seven games when playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
Dallas won the first meeting with Indiana back on Feb. 3, 112-103. That game was at Indiana. This game is in Dallas and the Pacers come in with a litany of injuries. Keep an eye on who is active, but even if a player like Warren is able to go, he likely isn’t 100 percent and the Pacers still will have some major depth issues. I just don’t see a team like Indiana, which isn’t great offensively at full health, will be able to compete with Dallas’ explosive offense on the road given all the players they will be without tonight.
NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks -6.5
