Cleveland flip flopping
The Cavaliers have alternated wins and losses over their last five games. They are coming off a 107-93 win at home over Orlando. They also have been alternating at the betting window. Cleveland is 16-48 on the season, 6-24 on the road, 29-34-1 against the spread and 33-30-1 with the over.
Cleveland is one of the worst offenses in the NBA, averaging just 103.6 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. Defensively, the Cavs are giving up 113.3 points per game while allowing a league-high 49 percent shooting to opponents. Kevin Love is leading the team this season with 18.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while Jordan Clarkson is adding 17.0 points per contest.
Nets end skid
Brooklyn put an end to a three-game losing streak on Monday in a 127-88 win at home over Dallas. The win also snapped a three-game failed cover streak. Brooklyn is 33-33 on the season, 19-16 at home, 36-30 against the spread and 35-31 with the over.
The Nets are putting up 111.9 points per game on offense while shooting 45.1 percent as a team. Defensively, Brooklyn is giving up 112.4 points per game while opponents are shooting 46.2 percent from the field. D’Angelo Russell is putting up 20.4 points and 6.8 assists per game to lead the team while Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 17.0 points and 5.0 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Cavaliers are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five Wednesday games.
Brooklyn
The Nets are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 conference games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against Central division opponents.
Prediction:
Brooklyn picked up a 148-139 win in OT at Cleveland on Feb. 13. The road team has won and covered the spread in all three meetings this season. Still, Cleveland is coming off a win and they have lost by double digits after their last two wins. The Nets have the scoring to really cause a problem for Cleveland. Being at home, I don’t expect Brooklyn to have a problem limiting the Cavs offense. I am going to take my chances on the Nets winning by double figures tonight.
NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets -9.5
