(The Spread) -It is a moderate day in the NBA as there are six games on the docket with one of the intriguing contests happening out west as the red-hot Denver Nuggets play at the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Denver Nuggets have not missed a beat since the trade of star Carmelo Anthony, having won three in a row and five of six. Next up for Denver is the Los Angeles Clippers, who will play host in the matchup at 10:30PM EST.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Clippers 1.5-point favorites versus the Nuggets, while the over-under is set at 210. According to the latest trends, the Clippers are 6-4 against the spread versus Denver over the last three seasons. Five of the past nine games in this series have gone under the total.
Denver won its fifth of sixth since trading Anthony Thursday by prevailing 103-101 at Utah. Los Angeles, which is now back at full strength after the recent return of shooting guard Eric Gordon (24.1 ppg) from injury, defeated Houston 106-103 at home on Wednesday but overall has lost eight of 10.
Blake Griffin averages 22.8 points and 12.5 rebounds to help carry the Clippers, while Nene Hilario puts in 14.8 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Nuggets.
In other NBA action, the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets will play the second game of their two-game series in London at 3:00PM EST. New Jersey is a 2.5 point favorite and the over-under is 204.5. Houston hosts Indiana at 8:30PM EST. The Rockets are 6-point favorites, while the over-under is 214.5. Utah is home to face Sacramento at 9:00PM EST. The Jazz are listed as 7.5-point favorites, while the over-under is 206.
