Bucks the best in the league
Milwaukee is coming off a 141-140 OT win at Sacramento on Wednesday. The Bucks have won six straight and own the league’s top record, though they have failed to cover in three of their last four games. Milwaukee is 47-14 on the season, 25-5 at home, 35-23-3 against the spread and 32-29 with the under.
The Bucks have the second-best offense in the NBA, averaging 117.4 points per game while shooting 47.9 percent as a team. They also lead the league in rebounding at 49 per game. Defensively, Milwaukee is giving up just 107.8 points per game while holding opponents to a league-best 43.1 percent shooting. Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading the team with 27.0 points, 12.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. Khris Middleton is adding 17.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
Lakers in a funk
Despite a win over the Pelicans on Wednesday, the Lakers have still dropped four of their last six games and failed to cover the spread in both. Los Angeles is now 30-31 on the season, 18-12 at home, 26-33-2 against the spread and 36-24-1 with the under.
The Lakers are averaging 112.4 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 113.6 points per game while opponents shoot 45 percent against them. Lonzo Ball and Lance Stephenson are both out tonight due to foot injuries. LeBron James is leading the team with 26.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game while Kyle Kuzma is adding 19.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 15-5-2 against the spread in their last 22 road games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record.
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine against Central Division opponents and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 against Eastern Conference opponents.
Prediction:
The Lakers had a nice win over the Pelicans, but they are not facing the Pelicans tonight. Milwaukee is stacked with talent and playing at a high level. The Bucks also have a chip on their shoulder as they continue to be doubted as a series title contender. LeBron doesn’t have enough help to contend with the Bucks’ depth tonight. I think Milwaukee imposes its will on Los Angeles early and then pulls away in the second half.
NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -4.5
