The Pelicans do have a really poor defense, allowing 117.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.6 percent against them. Brandon Ingram is leading New Orleans this season with 24.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Zion Willamson is adding 22.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest.
Warriors getting thrashed
Golden State is coming off a 135-105 loss at home to Houston. The Warriors have dropped five straight, losing three of them by at least 12 points. Golden State is now 12-44 on the season, 7-20 at home, 27-29 against the spread and 30-26 with the under.
The Warriors are giving up 115.1 points per game this season while opponents shoot 47.6 percent against them. NBA Betting Trends
New Orleans
The Pelicans are 11-1 against the spread in their last 12 games against a losing team and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games.
Golden State
The Warriors are 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, but 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home.
Prediction:
Golden State has won two of three from New Orleans this season, but the two haven’t met since Dec. 20. The Pelicans are a much different team right now. They have scored at least 118 in five straight games while putting up at least 124 in their last four wins. The Pelicans are going to score and they are young enough to continue to push a fast pace. The Warriors just don’t have the weapons to match. While the Pelicans aren’t a great defensive team, the Warriors aren’t a great offensive team. They don’t have consistent scoring and their current roster has limited experience together. Golden State is also thin in the frontcourt, which means Williamson should have a big night.
NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans -9.5
