Nuggets snap win streak
Denver had a four-game win streak come to an end before the break in a 120-116 OT loss at home to the Lakers. The Nuggets are 38-17 on the season, 17-10 on the road, 26-25-4 against the spread and 29-26 with the under.
The Nuggets are putting up 110.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.5 percent from the field as a team. Defensively, Denver is giving up 106.7 points per game while opponents shoot 45.7 percent against them. Will Barton is questionable to play tonight due to a knee injury. He averages 15.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. Nikola Jokic is leading Denver with 20.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. Jamal Murray is adding 18.9 points per contest.
Thunder try to get rolling
Oklahoma City is coming off a 123-118 win at New Orleans last Thursday. The Thunder have won five of their last seven games. OKC is now 33-22 on the season, 17-12 at home, 36-19 against the spread and 28-26-1 with the under.
The Thunder are putting up 110.6 points per game this season while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. Defensively, OKC is allowing 108.0 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading OKC with 19.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Danilo Gallinari and Dennis Schroder each average 19.3 points per game as well.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven Friday games, but 4-1 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 20-8 against the spread in their last 28 games overall and 17-7 ATS in their last 24 games as a favorite.
Prediction:
Denver grabbed a 110-102 win at home over OKC back in December and the Nuggets have owned this series, winning the last seven meetings while covering in 10 straight. I think the streak comes to an end tonight. OKC is a much improved team over recent months and I think they have the matchup to get past the Nuggets. Denver has been a bit shaky on the road and I like the OKC player depth and defense to control the Nuggets. Denver isn’t a team that is going to use offense to win games and Barton may not be available. I like OKC to see a surge in offense at home to end this losing streak to Denver.
