Thunder deal Reggie Jackson
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (TheSpread) – The Oklahoma City made a big move on Thursday, getting rid of young guard Reggie Jackson by sending him to the Detroit Pistons.
ESPN reports that the deal has the Thunder sending Jackson to the Pistons as well as Kendrick Perkins, Grant Jerrett and Tibor Pleiss to the Jazz. In return, OKC is getting Enes Kanter from Utah as well as D.J. Augustin, and Kyle Singler from Detroit. Jackson wanted more of a role in OKC, but was behind Russell Westbrook for time on the floor and the Pistons have a need at PG with Brandon Jennings out for the season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder have improved their odds to win the NBA Finals, as they now have 15/2 odds, putting them third-shortest. The Warriors are favored with 3/1 odds while the Cavs have 4/1 odds.
Jackson was averaging 12.8 points per game this season and had a strong showing in last year’s playoffs when Westbrook was injured. Kanter will give the Thunder another center. He is averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while Augustin was averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 assists per game for the Pistons. Oklahoma City is currently 29-25 on the season and in the eighth spot in the West if the playoff started today. They are 14.5 games behind Golden State for the top seed.
