HOUSTON, TX (TheSpread) – In a game that will have many highlights, which team will have the most? Here is our pick for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.

The NBA All-Star Game takes place from the Toyota Center in Houston, and will air live on TNT at 8PM ET. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Western Conference is the slight favorite in this game, as they have odds of -3.5 points against the Eastern Conference. The over/under total for this game has been set at 290.5 points.

This really isn’t an easy game to call because it is more of a showcase than a competitive game. Things tend to get more competitive toward the end, but the game could be well decided by then. In my opinion, the Western Conference has the clear talent edge on the East.

Though the East may have the best individual player in LeBron James, the East lacks a lot of punch outside him, Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade. The team has a lot of role players and unproven talent.

In the West, you have a full slate of strong scorers and explosive players, led by Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant. The team also has Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Blake Girffin, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and others. This team has the better “showcase” talent compared to the East.

ALL-STAR GAME FREE PICK: Like I said, this game ultimately comes down to talent and the Western Conference has it. It is part of the reason they have won the last two games. I would normally lean toward the over for this game, but oddsmakers are really pushing it up due to the high scoring in the past. It is going to be tough for these teams to surpass 290 points. With the game in Houston, I look for James Harden to have a solid outing and help lead the Western Conference to the victory and the cover.

2013 NBA ALL-STAR GAME FREE PICK: WESTERN CONFERENCE -3.5
