(The Spread) – It is the last day before the NBA All-Star break and there are two nationally televised contests to complete the first half, starting with the Chicago Bulls hosting the San Antonio Spurs.
The grueling nine-game road trip for the NBA-best San Antonio Spurs (46-9) reaches its conclusion tonight as they travel to play the Chicago Bulls (37-16) in an 8:00PM game that will be aired on TNT. Oddsmakers and online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have determined the Bulls are 2-point favorites in the contest.
According to the latest trends, San Antonio is 34-19 against the spread this season and Chicago is 31-21 ATS. The Bulls have won 15 out of their last 16 at the United Center and are 24-4 overall at home this season, but the Spurs counter that with the best road record in the NBA at 21-7.
San Antonio has dominated the series as of late with Chicago as the Spurs have won 15 of the past 19 meetings. San Antonio has won two in a row and is 6-2 on the road trip, while the Bulls have won three in a row including a 106-94 victory at home Tuesday versus Charlotte.
Derrick Rose highlights Chicago as he is having an MVP-caliber season with averages of 24.5 points, 8.2 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. Pacing the Spurs is Manu Ginobili, who averages 17.9 points as well as 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per contest.
The latter game on the TNT schedule pairs the Dallas Mavericks (39-16) at the Phoenix Suns (27-26) for a 10:30PM EST start. Phoenix is 16-12 in home contests this season, while Dallas is 18-8 on the road.
