Wizards’ Beal out with leg injury
WASHINGTON, DC (TheSpread) – The Washington Wizards’ could be without one of their top players for the foreseeable future as guard Bradley Beal has a mild stress reaction in his right leg.
The Wizards discovered the injury to Beal after examining a toe injury in his right foot, an injury that has left him out of the last two Washington games. According to ESPN, the team says they will re-evaluate Beal after the All-Star break this weekend, but a timetable for his return is currently uncertain. Beal is currently averaging 15 points, 3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game for the Wizards, which is second on the team in regards to scoring.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Wizards are currently listed with 40/1 odds to win the NBA Finals this season. The Golden State Warriors are favored with 3/1 odds, while the Cleveland Cavaliers have 13/4 odds to win it all.
The Wizards have been without Beal in the past, as he missed the first nine games of this season with a wrist injury. Washington is 33-20 on the season and tied for the third-best record in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards are 10 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the top record in the East.
