Hornets trade for Mo Williams
CHARLOTTE, NC (TheSpread) – The Charlotte Hornets are attempting to improve their back court by making a trade for Mo Williams from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
ESPN is reporting that the deal sends Williams to the Hornets along with Troy Daniels and cash, while the Timberwolves get Gary Neal and a 2019 second-round pick in the NBA Draft. Williams, a point guard, is averaging 12.2 points, 6.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game this season for Minnesota. He provides some depth at the position for the Hornets, who are dealing with an injury to Kemba Walker, their primary point guard.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Hornets are currently getting 300/1 odds to win the NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors are favored at 3/1 while the Cleveland Cavaliers have 13/4 odds.
The Hornets are currently 22-29 on the season, which actually puts them in a tie for the seventh position in the Eastern Conference. They are tied with Miami for the final two spots while the Brooklyn Nets are 1 game back in the ninth position. The Hornets have lost their last two games but are 6-4 in their last 10.
