There will not be too much debate as to which NBA game on Thursday night’s schedule will garner the most attention as the Boston Celtics host the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:00PM EST on TNT. Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have set Boston as 3-point favorites, while the over-under sits at 187.5.
According to the latest trends, the Lakers (36-16) are 23-29 against the spread this season while the Celtics (38-13) are 23-25 ATS. Boston is 23-4 in home contests and Los Angeles is 17-8 on the road.
The Lakers have played well on the road recently with wins at New Orleans and Memphis, while Boston is losers of two of its last three including a 94-89 defeat at Charlotte on Monday.
Paul Pierce compiles a stat line of 19.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists to pace the Celtics. Kobe Bryant leads Los Angeles in scoring at 25.4 points per game, while Pau Gasol averages 18.7 points per game and 10.5 boards.
In other NBA action, the Dallas Mavericks on the road at the Denver Nuggets at 10:30PM EST on TNT. Golden State travels to Phoenix for a 9:00PM EST start. Neither game was given an overnight line.
