Detroit Pistons Fantasy Spin
Luke Kennard shot 5-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Monday’s win over the Nuggets, scoring 14 points with four rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers. Kennard, who scored a total of five points on 2-of-10 shooting in the two games prior, put forth a solid effort off the bench as Detroit blew out Denver. A 35.8% shooter from three on the season, the second-year guard out of Duke is making just 30.4% of his attempts over the last five games (1.4 made three-pointers per game during this stretch). Kennard entered Monday averaging 10.2 points per game over the last ten, but four of his five double-digit scoring games were notched at the beginning of that stretch.
New York Knicks Fantasy Spin
Knicks coach David Fizdale plans to use Dennis Smith Jr. alongside Frank Ntilikina (groin). “It’s on me to try to mesh these guys together,” Fizdale said. “… Frank can take the bigger guy defensively. And I think Frank is comfortable playing with the ball or without the ball in his hands.” The Knicks are trying to flip Wesley Matthews which would open up more minutes in the backcourt, and the Knicks would be foolish to not see how the two lottery picks mesh. Frank is way ahead of the curve defensively, but until he grows on the offensive end his fantasy upside will be limited.
