Milwaukee Bucks Fantasy Spin
Giannis Antetokounmpo was a perfect 17-of-17 from the foul line Saturday vs. the Wizards, scoring 37 points (10-of-20 FGs) with ten rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes. While the 17 free throw attempts aren’t the most in a game this season for Antetokounmpo, the 17 makes are a new season-high for the All-Star captain. The Greek Freak was 12-of-12 from the charity stripe in the first half, as he scored 24 points to go along with five rebounds and two assists. Averaging 9.0 free throw attempts per game on the season, Antetokounmpo attempted a total of ten in his prior two games combined. Over his last five the MVP candidate is averaging 27.6 points per game while shooting 51.1% from the field.
Brooklyn Nets Fantasy Spin
D’Angelo Russell’s 25 points were not enough during a 117-114 loss in San Antonio on Thursday, adding five rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes. The Nets probably should’ve had this one with their wild 26-4 edge in fastbreak points with those 26 being the most for the Nets since March 2017. Russell had quite the January and put up the most points in a month for any Net in the Brooklyn era. He did not make the All-Star team today, but he’ll have an excellent chance to fill in for Victor Oladipo. Russell should continue to crush with Spencer Dinwiddie (thumb) on the sidelines.
NBA Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Bucks have covered the spread in four of their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven road games.
Brooklyn
The Nets are 10-3 against the number in their last 13 home games versus an opponent with a winning road record.
Prediction
The Bucks are 13-2-1 against the spread in their last 16 games in Brooklyn and are 24-8-1 against the number in their last 33 games versus the Nets overall. That said, I’m going to buck the trends tonight because the Nets have been highly competitive at the betting window. They’re 7-3 against the number in their last 10 games overall, are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games coming off one day of rest and are 6-2 at the betting window in their last eight home games.
