Nuggets staying warm
Denver has won three of its last four games, including a pair of road games. Their last outing was a 117-110 win at home over Houston on Sunday. The Nuggets are 32-14 on the season, 14-8 on the road, 20-22-4 against the spread and 26-20 with the under.
The Nuggets are led by their defense, which is giving up just 106 points per game and holds opponents to 45.4 percent shooting. Offensively, Denver is putting up 109.5 points per game while the team shoots 46.1 percent. The Nuggets are still without the likes of Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap and Miles Plumlee. The three combine for over 35 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 19.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest.
Grizz look for a win streak
Memphis is looking to win a third straight game tonight. The Grizzlies have won eight of their last 10 following a 114-109 win at home over the Suns on Sunday. Memphis is 22-24 on the season, 13-13 at home, 24-21-1 against the spread and 23-23 with the over/under total.
The Grizzlies are a solid offense that is averaging 113.5 points per game on offense while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 115.8 points per game while opponents shoot 46 percent from the floor. Jaren Jackson Jr. is leading the team with 18.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Rookie Ja Morant is adding 17.6 points and 7.1 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 3-9 against the spread in their last 12 games following a win, but 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on 1 day of rest.
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games following a win and 6-2 ATS in their last eight as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Denver has won both meetings with Memphis this season, as the Nuggets have been able to score on the Memphis defense. I could see that being an issue today though, as the Nuggets are without some of their offensive options. Jokic is a great player, but I don’t think he can single-handedly take over this game. The Grizzlies have been surging over the last month and their defense is starting to come down to average while their offense remains very dangerous. Morant is a great boost to this team and I think he will help propel the Grizzlies to a big win tonight.
NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies -1
