Cavs favored to win NBA Finals again?
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged from their funk and seem to be clicking on all cylinders. Is Cleveland once again the team to beat in the NBA?
After dipping to a 19-20 record and a lot of talk about first-year head coach David Blatt perhaps losing touch with the team, Cleveland has now won seven straight to get to 26-20 on the season. All seven of the team’s win in this streak have been by at least seven points with LeBron James leading the team in scoring in five of the seven wins.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers currently have 4/1 odds to win the NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors are currently favored to win it all with 15/4 odds. The Cavs are the favorite to win the Eastern Conference with 9/5 odds while the Chicago Bulls have 3/1 odds and the Atlanta Hawks have 9/4 odds.
Cleveland is currently in the fifth position of the Eastern Conference standings, 2.5 games ahead of Milwaukee and 3.5 games behind Chicago for the fourth spot. The Cavs are 11.5 games behind Atlanta for the top seed in the East. James is leading the team on the season with 26.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.49 steals per game. Kyrie Irving is adding 21.3 points and 5.2 assists per game while Kevin Love is averaging 17.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
