Thunder looking for another run
Oklahoma City is coming off nice wins over Portland and Houston coming into tonight’s game. The Thunder are 25-19 on the season, 11-10 on the road, 29-15 against the spread and 23-21 with the under.
OKC is averaging 109.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. Defensively, OKC is allowing 108 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent from the field. The Thunder could be dealing with some issues in the frontcourt, as both Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel are questionable to play tonight with ankle injuries. The two combined for nearly 20 points and 16 rebounds per game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.
Magic end road trip
Orlando wrapped up a six-game road trip on Wednesday with a 106-83 win at Charlotte. The Magic went 3-3 on the season and 4-2 against the spread. Orlando is 21-13 on the season, 13-8 at home, 21-21-2 against the spread and 24-18-2 with the under.
The Magic are struggling a lot on offense this year, averaging 103.8 points per game while shooting only 43.3 percent from the floor. Defensively, Orlando is tops in the league. The Magic are giving up 103.9 points per game while holding opponents to 45.1 percent shooting. Orlando is without some pieces tonight as DJ Augustin remains out with a knee injury, as is Jonathan Isaac. Both are double-digit scorers for Orlando. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team this season with 18.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while Evan Fournier is putting up 19.1 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games as a road underdog and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a win.
Orlando
The Magic are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as a favorite and 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games.
Prediction:
OKC has owned Orlando recently, winning four straight while covering in three straight. That including a 102-94 win for the Thunder at home on Nov. 5. My concern for the Thunder is their injuries in the paint. If Adams and Noel are both out, it really will be hard for OKC to stop Vucevic. He would be able to dictate a lot of the game. Orlando is back home after a long road trip, so that should help give them a boost for a push backing to becoming a winning team. I think OKC is the better team overall, but I don’t like the matchup on paper tonight given the injuries.
NBA Prediction: Orlando Magic -1.5
