Pacers vs. Lakers Prediction
The Pacers are a small favorite on the road tonight against the Lakers at 10:30PM ET. Are they a good bet to cover the spread?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Pacers are now 3-point road favorites versus the Lakers after opening as a 3.5-point favorite at most sports books. As for the total, the number hit the board at 220 but has been bet up to 220.5.
The Pacers head into tonight’s game with the Lakers on fire. Not only have they won back-to-back games, they’re also 7-1 over their last eight contests. Paul George racked up 24 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in the team’s 106-100 win over the Kings on Wednesday, and is Indiana’s leading score. Myles Turner also contributed with 16 points in the win over Sacramento.
The Lakers, meanwhile, are headed in the opposite direction. They’ve lost five in a row and have failed to cover in five consecutive games as well. The team will be without Larry Nance, who has been ruled out for tonight’s game with a knee injury. He practiced Wednesday and Thursday without any reported setbacks but has yet to be cleared to play in a live game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Pacers are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games in Los Angeles and the road team is a successful 8-3-1 against the number in the last four meetings between these two teams. The Lakers are also just 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine home games versus an opponent with a losing road record and have dropped 15 of their last 22 games at the betting window after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. There’s simply no good reason to back the Lakers at this point.
