Heat look for three straight
Miami is riding a two-game win streak, including a 106-100 win at home over San Antonio on Wednesday. The Heat are 29-12 on the season, 11-11 on the road, 24-15-2 against the spread and 25-15-1 with the over.
The Heat are putting up 111.6 points per game on offense while shooting 47.2 percent as a team from the field and 37.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, Miami is allowing 107.8 points per game while opponents shoot 44.5 percent from the floor. Jimmy Butler is leading the team with 20.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest. Kendrick Nunn is adding 16.0 points and 3.5 assists per game.
Spurs fall at home
After a four-game road trip, San Antonio returned home on Friday, but suffered a 121-120 loss to Atlanta. The Spurs are 17-23 on the season, 11-10 at home, 15-24-1 against the spread and 25-15 with the over.
The Spurs are struggling on defense this season, allowing 114.9 points per game while opponents shoot 46.3 percent against them. Offensively, San Antonio is putting up 113.8 points per game while opponents shoot 47.2 percent against them. DeMar DeRozan is leading the team with 22.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per contest. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Miami
The Heat are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a road favorite and 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games following a win.
San Antonio
The Spurs are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games as a home underdog, but 8-21 ATS in their last 29 home games.
Prediction:
The Heat grabbed the win earlier this week at home as a 5-point favorite. They have won and covered in their last three against the Spurs as a franchise. The Heat have had some struggles on the road, losing to the Knicks, Nets, Magic and Wizards in recent outings. The Spurs are coming off the loss at home to the Hawks and Gregg Popovich really let the team have hit. I think San Antonio will respond at home against a Heat team that it just saw that struggles on the road. I don’t trust Miami to be able to put up its normal offense and I look for the Spurs to come out with a little more energy today.
