Blazers on road trip
Portland is playing a third road game in four nights tonight. They are coming off a 120-112 loss at Dallas last night. The Blazers are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. Portland is 18-25 on the season, 9-15 on the road, 16-25-2 against the spread and 22-21 with the under.
The Blazers are a solid offense, averaging 111.7 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. Defensively, the Blazers are allowing 113.8 points per game while opponents shoot 44.4 percent against them. Portland could be without a big piece tonight as CJ McCollum is questionable with an ankle injury. He was injured last night. McCollum is averaging 21.5 points per game this season. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 27.0 points and 4.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists per contest.
Thunder struggling at home
Oklahoma City has lost three straight at home, including a 115-108 loss to Miami last night. The Thunder are 23-19 on the season, 13-9 at home, 27-15 against the spread and 22-20 with the under.
OKC is putting up 109.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.6 percent as a team. Defensively, the Thunder are allowing 108 points per game while opponents shoot 45.7 percent against them. The Thunder could be without Steven Adams tonight. He is questionable with a knee injury. He is averaging 11.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game this season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest. Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Portland
The Blazers are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games playing on no rest.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder have covered the spread in seven straight games on no rest and 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a losing team.
Prediction:
These two have met three times already this season, with Portland picking up two of the three games. I think OKC can even up the series tonight. Both teams are playing their third game in four days, but OKC has been at home for all three while Portland has had to travel three times. McCollum was also injured last night and may not be able to go on his ankle. OKC also has an impressive record on back-to-back game nights. I think the Thunder will be able to use their defense to slow down Portland’s tired legs and pick up the win and cover.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -6
