Wizards still not at full strength
Washington is coming off a 115-106 loss at Chicago on Wednesday. The Wizards have lost their last two as they continue to be without key pieces to the lineup. Washington is now 13-27 on the season, 5-16 on the road, 19-20-1 against the spread and 22-17-1 with the over.
The Wizards have the league’s worst defense, allowing 119.8 points per game while opponents shoot 48.8 percent against them. Offensively, Washington is putting up 114.6 points per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field. The Wizards are still without Rui Hachimura and Moritz Wagner due to injury. The two forwards each averaged over 11 points and five rebounds per game. Bradley Beal is leading the team with 27.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Davis Bertans is adding 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per outing.
Toronto rolls at OKC
The Raptors are finally starting to heal up. They are coming off a 130-121 win at Oklahoma City on Wednesday. However, they have lost four of their last five at home. The Raptors are 26-14 on the season, 14-7 at home, 22-18 against the spread and 20-19-1 with the under.
Toronto is putting up 110.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting an impressive 37.1 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Raptors are giving up 105.6 points per game while holding opponents to just 42.6 percent from the field. The Raptors have been without key player for most of the last few weeks, but should be at full health tonight with Fred VanVleet expected to play. Pascal Siakam is leading the team with 24.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Kyle Lowry is adding 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
The Wizards are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, but 5-2 ATS in their last seven Friday games.
Toronto
The Raptors are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games as a favorite and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win.
Prediction:
The Raptors picked up a 122-118 win at home over Washington back on Dec. 20, but the Wizards have covered the spread in their last three meetings with the Raptors. This is a big spread for Toronto, especially considering their struggles at home as of late. However, they now have their full compliment of players and that should help them get back to where they were a month ago, still playing at a high level. Their offense should flourish against this awful Washington defense and the Toronto defense also should be improved. The Wizards have had five of their last six losses come by double figures, with the other coming by nine points. Don’t be intimidated by the big spread.
NBA Prediction: Toronto Raptors -10
