Jazz win 10th straight
The Utah Jazz extended their win streak to 10 games following a 118-107 win at Brooklyn on Tuesday. The Jazz are 9-1 against the spread during the win streak. Utah is 28-12 on the season, 13-9 on the road, 22-18 against the spread and 20-20 with the over/under total.
Utah is a solid defensive team, allowing just 105.8 points per game while opponents shoot 44.2 percent against them. On offense, the Jazz are averaging 109.7 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and a league-best 39 percent from the arc. Mike Conley is still out with the Jazz due to injury. He is averaging 13.6 points and 4.6 assists per contest. Donovan Mitchell is leading the way with 24.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest. Bojan Bogdanovic is adding 20.9 points per contest.
Pelicans still competitive
Outside of a loss at Boston where they were blown out, New Orleans has been playing well in recent weeks. They are coming off a 117-110 OT win over the Pistons on the road on Monday and are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games. The Pelicans are 15-26 on the season, 7-12 at home, 19-20-2 against the spread and 23-18 with the over.
The Pelicans are putting up 113.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 44.9 percent from the field. Defensively, New Orleans has struggled this year, allowing 116.9 points per game while opponents shoot 46.7 percent against them. The Pelicans have eight listed on the injury report right now. Jrue Holiday and Kenrich Williams are both listed as out, while JJ Redick is questionable. Holiday and Redick combined for over 35 points per game. Brandon Ingram is leading the team with 25.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Utah
The Jazz have covered the spread in four straight games as a favorite and 7-1 against the spread in their last eight road games.
New Orleans
The Pelicans are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games as an underdog and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win.
Prediction:
These two met up in New Orleans just 10 days ago and the Jazz picked up a 2-point win, 128-126. The Jazz also own a 128-120 win over the Pelicans in Utah from back in November. Both teams are playing really well, but the Jazz are winning games and winning pretty comfortably. The Pelicans come into this game with a lot of injuries and I think they will struggle with the Utah defense because of that. I can’t pick against the Jazz right now.
NBA Prediction: Utah Jazz -4.5
