According to the latest oddsmakers, the Thunder are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -1.5 points against the Raptors. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 211.5 points. The public betting currently has 54 percent going on the Thunder as the home favorite. Raptors struggling to cover
Toronto is coming off a 105-104 loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs and the Raptors have failed to cover in three straight and four of their last five. The Raptors are 25-14 on the season, 11-7 on the road, 21-18 against the spread and 20-18-1 with the under.
The Raptors are a solid defense, allowing just 105.2 points per game while holding opponents to 42.4 percent shooting. Offensively, Toronto is averaging 110.3 points per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. The Raptors recently got leader Pascal Siakam back from injury. He is averaging 24.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest. Kyle Lowry is adding 20.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists per contest.
OKC on a cover run
The Oklahoma City Thunder have covered the spread in nine of their last 10 games, including a 117-104 win at Minnesota on Monday night. The Thunder are 23-17 on the season, 13-7 at home, 27-13 against the spread and 22-18 with the under.
The Thunder are allowing just 107.3 points per game on defense this season while opponents shoot just 45.3 percent against them. Offensively, OKC is putting up 109.2 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the Thunder with 19.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Danilo Gallinari is adding 18.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games playing on 2 days of rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games following a win and 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
OKC just grabbed a 98-97 win at Toronto back on Dec. 29. The Thunder have actually won and covered the spread in five of their last six against the Raptors. Siakam looked good in his return to the lineup, but they still lost at home to the Spurs. Their last three games have all been decided by two points or less, so I would expect this game to be close, but the Thunder should be fine grinding out a win at home. OKC has a lot of fight in them and their toughness should hold up against Toronto, who is struggling as of late and not a reliable road team.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -1.5
