Suns head out East
Phoenix is beginning a East Coast road trip tonight after picking up a pair of wins at home over the Magic and Hornets this weekend. The Suns have failed to cover in five straight games. Phoenix is 16-23 on the season, 7-9 on the road, 20-18-1 against the spread and 21-18 with the over.
The Suns are putting up 113.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.2 percent as a team. Defensively, the Suns are allowing 114 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent against them. Ricky Rubio is questionable to play tonight for personal reasons. He is averaging 13.2 points and 9.3 assists per game. Devin Booker is leading the team with 25.8 points and 6.5 assists per game. Deandre Ayton is adding 15.4 points and 11.2 rebounds per contest.
Hawks continue to struggle
Atlanta has lost four straight coming into tonight, including a 108-86 loss at Brooklyn on Sunday. The Hawks are now 8-32 on the season, 4-14 at home, 17-23 against the spread and 21-19 with the over.
The Hawks are putting up just 107 points per game on offense this season while shooting 44 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from the arc. Defensively, Atlanta is giving up 117.1 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent against them. The Hawks have some big injury issues for this game. Evan Turner and Jabari Parker are both out while Alex Len is doubtful. Trae Young and Deandre Hunter are both questionable. Young is leading the team with 28.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.4 assists per contest. John Collins is adding 17 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest.

Prediction:
Phoenix picked up a 128-112 win over the Hawks at home early in November. I don’t normally like the Suns as a road favorite, but Atlanta is really beat up. Keep an eye on the latest for Young’s status, but even with him in the lineup, Atlanta has been a mess. The Hawks don’t play much defense and they shoot really poorly for being a team that seems to be built to score. Phoenix can definitely score, so I expect the Suns to just outscore the short-handed Hawks.
NBA Prediction: Phoenix Suns -3
