Philly picking up steam
Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back wins at home over Oklahoma City and Boston this week, but the 76ers have lost their last four road games. The 76ers are 25-14 on the season, 7-12 on the road, 16-19-4 against the spread and 19-19-1 with the over/under total.
The 76ers are solid on defense this year, allowing just 105.7 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Offensively, Philly is putting up 109.8 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor. The 76ers are without Joel Embiid for at least a few weeks due to a hand injury. He is averaging 23.4 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Tobias Harris is leading the team right now with 19.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Ben Simmons is averaging 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 8.4 assists per contest.
Mavs run over by Lakers
Dallas is coming off a 129-114 loss at home to the Lakers last night. Dallas is just 2-5 in their last seven games while going 1-5-1 against the spread. The Mavericks are 23-15 on the season, 11-10 at home, 19-18-1 against the spread and 24-14 with the over.
The Mavericks are putting up 116.3 points per game this season while shooting 46 percent from the floor. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 109.7 points per game while opponents shoot 45 percent against them. The Mavs are without Kristaps Porzingis right now due to a knee injury. He averages 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this year. Luka Doncic is leading the team with 29.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. Tim Hardaway Jr. is adding 14.0 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games as a road underdog and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Dallas
The Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss, but 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games.
Prediction:
Dallas won the first meeting in Philly on Dec. 20, 117-98. The 76ers have actually played pretty well recently without Embiid. They ran over Boston on Thursday and bested the Thunder by seven earlier in the week. The Mavs seem a little lost without Porzingis. It has impacted both sides of the ball and left Doncic without a partner in the pick-and-roll game. The Mavs also played last night in a high-profile game, so I think Philly can take advantage of their tired legs. The lack of scoring depth for Dallas is a concern, as the 76ers are much more balanced throughout the lineup.
