Grizz alternating wins and losses
Memphis is coming off a 140-114 win at the Clippers last night. The Grizzlies have alternated wins and losses over their last eight games, but are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games. The Grizz are 14-22 on the season, 7-10 on the road, 17-18-1 against the spread and 20-16 with the over.
The Grizzlies are putting up 112.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Memphis is giving up 116.5 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. Jaren Jackson Jr. is leading the Grizzlies with 17.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, while Ja Morant is adding 17.8 points and 6.6 assists per contest.
Suns trying to heat up
Phoenix is coming off a 120-112 win over the Knicks at home on Friday. They have won three of their last four while covering the spread in five of their last six. The Suns are 14-21 overall, 7-12 at home, 20-14-1 against the spread and 21-14 with the over.
The Suns have a solid offense, averaging 114.2 points per game this year while shooting 46.2 percent as a team. Defensively, the Suns are allowing 115 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.7 percent against them. Devin Booker is leading the team with 25.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Deandre Ayton is adding 14.6 points and 12.4 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Sunday games.
Phoenix
The Suns have covered the spread in five straight games playing on 1 day of rest and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Prediction:
The Suns are finally starting to get on track now that Ayton is back from suspension and injury. Booker is already a stud player and adding Ayton into the lineup will make them a dangerous team. The Grizzlies have a lot of young talent to work with, but I can’t trust them to play consistently well on the road. Playing last night, I would expect them to be a little slow out the gate against a Phoenix team hungry to make a run.
NBA Prediction: Phoenix Suns -6.5
