Public Betting Trends
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Magic are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -4 points against the Wizards. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 219 points. The public betting currently has 53 percent going on Orlando as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Magic drop two straight
Orlando is coming off a pair of losses to the Bucks and the Hawks this week. The Magic are 14-19 on the season, 4-12 on the road, 13-18-2 against the spread and 17-15-1 with the under.
The Magic are the NBA’s least-productive offense, averaging just 102.9 points per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from the arc. Defensively, Orlando is one of the best in the league. The team is giving up just 104.8 points per game while holding opponents to 45.7 percent shooting. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team with 18.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per contest. Evan Fournier is adding 19.5 points per contest.
Wizards roll over Miami
Washington is coming off a surprising 123-105 win at home over Miami as an 11-point underdog. The Wizards come into tonight’s game at 10-22 on the season, 5-8 at home, 16-15-1 against the spread and 19-12-1 with the over.
The Wizards have the league’s-worst defense, giving up 121 points per game while opponents shoot 49.2 percent against them. Offensively, Washington is great, putting up 116.6 points per contest while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. The Wizards have a lot of injury issues. Bradley Beal is questionable with a leg injury. He is averaging 27.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. Davis Bertans, Thomas Bryant and Rui Hachimura are all out due to injuries. They each average 13.9 points per game or more and combined for about 17 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Orlando
The Magic are 6-0 against the spread in their last six road games against a team with a losing home record and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 Wednesday games.
Washington
The Wizards are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Prediction:
The Magic have won both meetings with the Wizards this season and it is because Orlando has been able to score on the Wizards. The Magic put up 125 in one win and 127 in the other. The Magic don’t usually put up a lot of points, but the Wizards are just a mess defensively. The problem with that is, is that Washington has to win with offense and they are missing a lot of pieces to that offense. Beal won’t be 100 percent if he plays, so I think he will have some trouble carrying this team against a good defense in Orlando. While the Magic as a road favorite is scary, I think they are the right play tonight.
