After Thursday night’s pole qualifying session was rained out, Johnson was quickly downgraded to a 3/1 odds to win favorite. Johnson will start from the Pole Position Saturday night under the lights.

Johnson is tough to beat at the track that carries the name of his primary sponsor. In 14 career races at Lowes’s, Johnson has five wins, eight top 5’s, 11 top 10’s and an average finish of 9.1.

Right behind Johnson in odds and the points is Carl Edwards. Edwards is a 4.5/1 favorite to win the 2008 Bank of America 500. In seven career starts at Lowe’s Edwards has three top 5’s, six top 10’s and an average finish of 7.6. Edwards was involved in a physical altercation Thursday with Kevin Harvick (20/1) in the Nationwide Series Garage area, which stemmed from Edwards crash last weekend at Talladega.

Rounding out the top 5 Bank of America 500 odds to win favorites are Greg Biffle at 5/1 – In 11 races at Lowe’s Biffle has two top 5’s, four top 10’s and an average finish of 19.3. Kyle Busch at 7/1 - in nine starts Busch has two top 5’s, three top 10’s and an average finish of 23.3 and lastly Tony Stewart at 8/1. Stewart has 19 races under his belt at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and has recorded one win, six top 5’s, 11 top 10’s and an average finish of 13.2.

The winner of last years race, Jeff Gordon is currently listed at 10/1 odds to win. Gordon has won at Lowe’s four times in his Sprint Cup career.
