Fast facts: Austin Dillon leads the drivers' standings, six points ahead of Sam Hornish Jr. with two races left. ... Penske's No. 22 car has a 26-point lead over Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 54 Toyota. Kyle Busch is making his 25th start of the year in the No. 54. He has 11 victories this season - winning at the track in March to end a 24-race Nationwide victory drought - and a record 62 overall. Last year: Antron Brown became the first black champion in any NHRA pro series, taking the Top Fuel title at the season-ending event despite a first-round loss. Brandon Bernstein won the Top Fuel final. Cruz Pedregon topped the Funny Car division, Allen Johnson won in Pro Stock, and Andrew Hines in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Last event: John Force won his record 16th Funny Car season title, beating daughter Courtney Force on Oct. 27 in the Las Vegas final. The 64-year-old Force has won three straight events and four overall this season to push his record career total to 138. Matt Smith won the event to wrap up his second Pro Stock Motorcycle title. Brown won the Top Fuel final, and Shane Gray topped the Pro Stock field.
Fast facts: Shawn Langdon leads the Top Fuel standings, 102 ahead of Brown. Jeg Coughlin tops the Pro Stock standings, 71 points in front of Jason Line and 80 ahead of Mike Edwards. ... In February at the track in the season-opening Winternationals, Courtney Force won in Funny Car, Langdon in Top Fuel, and Vincent Nobile in Pro Stock. ... The track is about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
