UNDATED - It took seven months, but IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard finally considers himself a gearhead. His job is to make millions follow suit. Reviving interest in the open-wheel series won't be easy. That's fine. Bernard isn't afraid to fail. By Will Graves.

SINGAPORE - What happened off the track at the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend may yet mean as much as what happened on it. Mark Webber finished a distant third at Marina Bay yet extended his lead in the drivers' championship to 11 points over Fernando Alonso, who won his second Singapore GP. But Alonso's charge into title contention took a hit when Formula One confirmed that construction woes threaten the Korean Grand Prix. If the event is called off, only three races would remain in the season, giving Alonso and three other championship contenders less time to catch Webber. By Auto Racing Writer Chris Lines.
