DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – NASCAR has reached a deal in which FOX Deportes will cover 15 Sprint Cup Series races next year.
Six races will be carried life on the Spanish-language network, including the Daytona 500, and the others will air on tape-delay. FOX Deportes will also produce programs focused on engaging the Latino fan base. The deal was announced Monday
Steve Herbst, NASCAR vice president of broadcasting and production, says the series is eager to expose the sport to new audiences. Vincent Cordero, executive vice president and general manager of FOX Deportes, called the deal a milestone for his network.
Fox Deports says it reaches more than 20 million cable and satellite households in the United States. It is part of News Corp.’s Fox Sports Media Group.
