CAR--NASCAR-HAPPIER HARVICK
FLORENCE, S.C. - Kevin Harvick can't stop smiling these days. And it's not because he's already got two Sprint Cup wins this season. Ten years after being thrown into an impossible NASCAR spot in taking over for the late Dale Earnhardt, an older improved Harvick is more comfortable than ever in his own skin. By Pete Iacobelli.

CAR--NASCAR-HAMLIN'S SHOWDOWN
RICHMOND, Va. - Denny Hamlin is excited about his annual charity race becoming bigger than ever, even if he doesn't like the reason that he had to find a new venue for it this year. By Hank Kurz Jr.

CAR--INDYCAR-FRANCHITTI
SAO PAULO - Dario Franchitti is not entirely pleased with his start to the IndyCar season despite having the points lead going into the Sao Paulo 300. Franchitti began defense of his series title with a victory and two podium finishes, but the Scot feels he still needs to improve performance in his car to stay competitive the rest of the year and remain in position to win his third straight championship. CAR--INDYCAR-NO STUNT
INDIANAPOLIS - Randy Bernard would do almost anything to get more fans watching IndyCar races. Fancy driver intros? Double-file restarts? Celebrity appeal? Check, check and check. Next month, even the Indianapolis 500 will try something different by including a record-breaking stunt in its prerace festivities. Similar promotions helped turn NASCAR from regional player into one of the nation's premier sports leagues, and the IndyCar Series is hoping the same foundation will help attract younger fans to open-wheel racing.
