RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Travis Pastrana says he's not in this on a lark.
The X Games and motocross star is set to make his Nationwide Seriees debut Friday night at Richmond International raceway. His arrival comes almost nine months after it was supposed to, courtesy of a shattered right ankle, and he's ``really pumped.''
The winner of 11 gold medals in the X Games is expected to bring a younger fan base with him.
He says many people don't seem to understand why he's trying to cross over to NASCAR, and that he understands that he's got a lot of work to do. But he says he's willing to put in the time to show that's he's racing, eventually, to win.
Fellow racers say he's a welcome addition to the sport.
