Last year: Kyle Busch won the spring race for the fourth straight year. The victory was Busch's lone win of the season in NASCAR's three national series.
Last week: Matt Kenseth raced to his second straight Kansas Speedway victory, and second win on the season, holding off Kasey Kahne. However, Kenseth was penalized severely Wednesday when his engine failed a post-race inspection.
Fast facts: Jimmie Johnson leads the season standings, 37 points ahead of Kahne. Defending series champion Brad Keselowski is third, 38 points behind Johnson. ... Denny Hamlin, from nearby Chesterfield, is sitting out his fourth straight race after fracturing a vertebra at Fontana in a last-lap wreck.
