CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Jeb Burton has landed a ride for Daytona a week after sponsorship issues caused his team to fold.
Burton will drive in both the Truck Series season opener and ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway for ThorSport Racing. The team said the balance of Burton’s schedule will be determined by additional funding.
Burton was scheduled to race the full Truck Series schedule this season for Turner Scott Motorsports, but his ride fell apart when his sponsor defaulted on a payment.
Now he has at least landed a ride for Daytona with the team that won the Truck Series championship last season with Matt Crafton. ThorSport also finished fourth in the standings with Johnny Sauter.
Burton finished fifth in points last year.
He’ll drive the No. 13 Toyota in Daytona.
