Edwards vs. Stewart Title Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2011 Chase for the Championship is down to its final race and only two drivers have a chance to claim the season-long NASCAR Sprint Cup.
According to oddsmakers, Carl Edwards is the favorite to win the championship over Tony Stewart, as Edwards has a money line of -140 to win the title while Stewart has odds of +120. Edwards has a 3-point edge over Stewart heading into Sunday’s season finale, the Ford 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Looking at the season standings, Edwards holds one win and 18 top 5’s with 25 top 10’s. His average finish on the year is 9.5. Stewart holds four wins on the year but just eight top 5’s and 18 top 10’s. His average finish on the season is 12.3. Stewart has had all four of his wins come in the Chase for the Championship.
At Homestead, Edwards has two wins and four top 5’s in seven races. His average finish at the track is 5.7 while his driver rating is 117.5, best of any current driver. Stewart has two wins and three top 5’s at Miami in 12 races. His average finish is 12.4 while his driver rating is 87.6, which ranks 11th in the series.
