Johnson back on top
MARTINSVILLE, VA (TheSpread) – Jimmie Johnson took over the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series lead on Sunday by winning the TUMS Fast Relief 500.
Johnson fought hard all day in the 500-lap race and took over the lead for good on the final restart late in the race. Johnson finished ahead of Kyle Busch for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Johnson had 4/1 odds to win Sunday’s race, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $400.
Kasey Kahne came in third on Sunday while Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer rounded out the top 5.
The win for Johnson pushes him to first in the point standings. He is 2 points ahead of Brad Keselowski, who finished sixth on the day to fall out of first place.
