Busch is a 7/1 favorite to win the race according to oddsmakers at the online sports book Other short odds to win are Tony Stewart (9/1), Jeff Gordon (9/1), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (10/1), Jimmie Johnson (10/1), and Denny Hamlin (10/1).
Busch won the 2008 event for his first ever win and top 10 finish at Talladega. Gordon sits third in the current standings, 150 points behind Johnson, and has six career wins at Talladega. In 33 races at this track, Gordon has finished in the top 10 on 16 occasions. Gordon has finished in the top six in his last five Sprint Cup events.

Earnhardt Jr. has won five times on this track in his career, while Johnson has one victory at Talladega, and Hamlin has never finished better than third on this track.
