Biffle wins Charlotte Pole


CONCORD, NC (TheSpread) – Greg Biffle on the pole for Saturday’s Bank of America 500. He will now start up front for this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

According to oddsmakers at, Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson are still the favorites to win this race, as each has 5/1 odds. Kyle Busch still has been given 7/1 odds to win while Biffle now moves up to 8/1 odds.

Hamlin qualified ninth for this race. Hamlin is third in the point standings, 23 points out of first. He has five wins and 12 top 5’s on the year. Hamlin has never won at Charlotte. He has two top 5’s and seven top 10’s at this track and has an average finish of 15.0 with a driver rating of 89.3.

Johnson is second in the standings, 14 points out of first. Johnson has three wins and 15 top 5’s this year. Johnson has won at this track six times in his career. His average finish at Charlotte is 11.8, while his driver rating is 111.0, which is the best of any driver. Johnson will start fifth on Saturday night.

Busch is not in this year’s Chase. He is 13th in the point standings and has one win and eight top 5’s on the year. Kyle Busch has the second-best driver rating at this track, which is 107.5. He has never won this particular event. Busch will start eighth in Saturday’s race.
