Gordon wins Sylvania 300 Pole

LOUDON, NH (TheSpread) – Jeff Gordon improved on his chances to win the Sylvania 300 on Sunday as he took the pole in Friday’s qualifying.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Denny Hamlin is now the lone favorite to win this race, as he has 4/1 odds after qualifying. Other short odds to win are Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart, who each have 6/1 odds. Gordon now has 7/1 odds to win.

Hamlin is tied for fourth in the standings. He is 15 points out of first and has four wins with 11 top 5’s on the year. Hamlin has one win at New Hampshire. His average finish at this track is 8.5, while his driver rating is 101.4. Hamlin only qualified 33rd for this race.

Busch qualified second for this race. He is not part of the Chase for the Championship this year and has just one win on the season. Busch has never won this race.
