College Savings 250

The NASCAR Nationwide Series hits Richmond International Raceway on Friday night for the 2009 Virginia 529 College Savings 250.

Kyle Busch maintains his role as the pre-race favorite to win this week’s Nationwide event.

Busch is listed at 2/1 odds to win according to oddsmakers at the online sports book BetOnline. Other short odds to win are Denny Hamlin (3/1), Kevin Harvick (5/1), Clint Bowyer (6/1), and Carl Edwards (6/1).

Busch leads the Nationwide series by 221 points right now and is the 2007 winner of this event. Busch has finished in the top 10 in 22 of 26 Nationwide races this season and is coming off a second place finish last Saturday.

Hamlin has driven in just three Nationwide races this year and finished no better than 21st, but Hamilin is a Virginia native with Richmond International Raceway considered his home track.

Harvick is coming off a win in the Degree V12 300 last weekend and has finished in the top five in his last four Nationwide races. Harvick won this event in 2006.

Bowyer has competed in just seven Nationwide races this year, but has one win and three third-place finishes.

Edwards sits second in the points standings behind Busch and is the defending champion of this race. Edwards has finished in the top seven in 11 of his last 12 Nationwide races.
