Pure Michigan 400 Picks
BROOKLYN, MI (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hosts the Pure Michigan 400 today from Michigan International Speedway. Here are some picks to consider today.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jeff Gordon, the pole sitter, is favored to win with 4/1 odds while Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick each have 6/1 odds.
Here are the drivers we like:
Johnson has been fading lately, falling to seventh in the point standings, but he is coming to a fast track with a lot of open racing, which is right up his ally. Johnson has won at MIS before and has a driver rating of 102.9 at the track, which ranks third in the series. Though he is starting 30th, Johnson should be up front at the end of the race.
Logano will have a fast car today. He qualified second for today’s race and is the defending champion of this event from last year. He has finished in the top 10 at the last three Sprint Cup events in Michigan and we think today could be another with for Logano. He has finished sixth or better in his last three races and is primed to get his third win of the year.
Live Long Shot
Dillon will start in eighth position today. Though this is his first full season in the Sprint Cup Series, MIS is a track he has competed in multiple times before this year, placing in the top 15 both times. Dillon consistently is finding himself in the 10-20 range, but today could be different as he enters a track he is comfortable with and has a good starting postion.
