LEXINGTON, OH (TheSpread) – The 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series kicks off the racing weekend on Saturday with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
This is a first-time event and it is being held on a street course. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Marcose Ambrose is the favorite to win this race, as he has odds of 5/2 to win. Other short odds to win are Sam Hornish Jr. (15/2) and A.J. Allmendinger (8/1).
Ambrose is a road-course specialist. He has yet to compete in a Nationwide race this year but he has been among the favorites to win the Sprint Cup road course races.
Hornish Jr. is second in the point standings, 3 points out of first place. He has one win and nine top 5s on the year. His average finish over the 21 Nationwide races was 10.1.
Allmendinger has only competed in one Nationwide event this year, which was a win in the Johnsonville Sausage 200 back on June 22.
