View Current NASCAR Odds

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jeff Gordon, the pole sitter, is favored to win with 4/1 odds while Marcos Ambrose has 9/2 odds and Brad Keselowski sits with 6/1 odds.

Here are the drivers we like (These picks were made prior to the tragic events of Saturday night):

Kyle Busch 12/1

Busch will start 19th today. He is a two-time winner of this race and has an average finish of 81. At the track. His driver rating at Watkins Glen is 113.3, which is third amongst today’s drivers. Busch is in need of a win to really get into the top level of the standings and he is at a track that he normally contends at. Look for him to be near the front at the end, if not the leader.

Tony Stewart 18/1

Stewart hasn’t had much to be excited about this year. He is 19th in the point standings and has an average finish of 18.6 this season. Stewart has finished outside the top 10 in seven of his last eight, but Watkins Glen is his track. He is a five-time winner here with an average finish of 7.9. He also has a driver rating of 120.4 at this track, which is best of any driver. Stewart will start 13th, but should be at the front quickly and unquestionably contend for his first win of 2014 today.

Live Long Shot

Brian Vickers 60/1

Vickers is 18th in the point standings and also in need of a win. He will start 12th today and is coming off a 37th-place finish last week. He has typically bounced back well after poor races this year. The last five times he has finished outside the top 25, he has come back to crack the top 20 in the next race - placing in the top 15 four times – including one runner-up finish. Vickers has had success at Watkins Glen before, finishing eighth in 2005 and 11th in 2009.
