LOUDON, NH (TheSpread) – Kasey Kahne went a long way to increase his chances of making the Chase for the Championship on Sunday, as he won the 2012 Lenox Industrial Tools 301.

Kahne led the late stages of the race and never looked back. He did receive some competition from Denny Hamlin, who arguably had the best car on the day, but Hamlin ran out of time in his pursuit of Kahne.

The win for Kahne gives him two on the year and firmly puts him in the second wild card spot with only 7 races remaining before the Chase.

According to oddsmakers, Kahne had 12/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $1,200.

The top four in the standings held firm as leader Matt Kenseth placed 13th while Dale Earnhardt Jr. took fourth to stay in second in the standings, 16 points behind Kenseth.
