Coke Zero 400 Predictions
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup series competes under the lights tonight in Daytona for the Coke Zero 400. Here is a look at some drivers to consider for the race.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the favorite to win the race, as he has 8/1 odds. Jimmie Johnson comes in with 10/1 odds while eight other drivers have 12/1 odds.
Here are the drivers we like:
Stewart hasn’t had the best 2014 season thus far. He is winless with just two top 5s and is 16th in the point standings. Stewart will start 12th tonight, and he is at a track that has been very good to win. Stewart is a four-time winner at Daytona and he has an average finish of 17.1 at the track. His driver rating at Daytona is 90.0, which ranks fourth in the series. With Stewart in need of a win and him being at a track that he has success in, look for him to be tonight’s winner.
Hamlin hasn’t had the most consistent year either, but he has a win to his credit in 2014. Hamlin qualified just 37th for tonight’s race, but he has had three top 5s in his career at Daytona. His average finish at the track is just 20.4, but his driver rating is 85.5, which puts him eighth amongst all drivers. Hamlin usually has a fast car on the long tracks. If he stays out of any trouble while driving toward the front, he should be right in the mix to win at the end.
Kahne is in a similar spot as Stewart, desperately in need of a win, as he sits 15th in the point standings and winless in 2014. Kahne had a good start to the weekend, claiming the Nationwide victory on Friday night. Combine that win with his strong finishes of late, finishing eighth or better in three straight races, and tonight is shaping up well for Kahne. He begins in 14th position and that should plant him right in the mix to win.
